Results and Fergus McDuff changes hands – 12 Dec 2022

Our quarterly stroke and putts competition was played in warm and sunny conditions on 12 December 2022.  With the greens in perfect condition, it was recognised that it would not take a lot of mistakes to win the Fergus McDuff trophy and indeed the difference between worst and best putting scores was only 10 shots.  The best putter on the day was Garth Irvine with 27 putts whereas the member least fortunate and winner of the Fergus McDuff trophy was Mike Spencer with 37 putts.  Mike will have a chance to pass it over to another member on Monday 13 February and there is no truth in the rumour that the secretary had to break his putter on the fifth green to avoid having to bear the shame of retaining the trophy.  The photo shows captain Tom McClain (R) presenting Mike Spencer (L) with the prestigious award:
