Jock Oehlers Match Play Championship

The match play championship was played on Mondays 28 April, 5, 12 and 19 May 2025.  The number of members entering the competition was disappointingly less than usual and the timing of the match play will be reconsidered for 2026.  However that is not to detract from the performance of the entrants and in particular the winner Alan Smith who takes the Jock Oehlers Shield home for the 5th time – he first won the event in 2005 and to win it again 20 years later aged 87.9 is truly creditable.  Ron Bensky provided stiff competition in the final with the pair even after 17 holes and Alan winning by a single putt on the par-3 18th hole.
