The committee’s decision on 25 March to suspend club operations until at least the end of May 2020 has been overtaken by the following announcement from Wembley Golf Course, as follows:
We have been informed by the Town of Cambridge that the following services are currently now closed.
– Driving range (including all practice facilities)
– Golf Courses (Tuart and Old)
– Mini Golf
– 300 Acres Bar and Restaurant
– Kiosk
– Playground
– All lessons and clinics
We are unsure when these services will be back up and running. We will endeavour to provide you with more information as soon as we can.
The committee’s decision was as follows:
As a result of the COVID-19 virus and the various advice and bulletins received from authorities like the Government, we have decided to suspend the operations of West Coast Golf Club until the end of May because the health and well being of all our members is paramount. We will leave the year’s bookings as they are with Wembley Golf Club so that any members who wish to have a game socially can do so if they turn up at that time.
I will keep members advised if I hear of any change to the decision to close Wembley Golf. In the meantime, things could get worse – is this what happens to people who defy stay-at-home orders in China – video
