Tee shots Players may play in any order
Each player must have one drive used on each 9 holes
Play from Fairway Players may play in any order. All team members must play from within one club length of the selected ball marker not closer to the hole. Balls may be placed
Play from the rough The player whose ball is selected to be played must play first. Subsequent players must play from within one club length of where the selected ball lay. The balls must be dropped not placed
Play from a bunker The player whose ball is selected must play first. Subsequent team members must play from within 10cm of the divot of the previous player but not closer to the hole. Bunkers may be raked after each shot and subsequent team members may place their ball
Play on the greens Players may play in any order. All team members must play from within 10cm of the marked spot but not closer to the hole
In a game where there are 3 and 4 man Ambrose teams the 3 man teams will have an extra putt to be taken by the player who putts first or second not third
Scoring Ambrose is scored as a stroke event and handicapping is as follows:
Four man Ambrose event
Team handicap: 1/8 of aggregate stroke handicap
Three man Ambrose event
Team handicap: 1/6 of aggregate stroke handicap
Mixed three and four man Ambrose event
Four man team handicap: 1/8 of aggregate stroke handicap
Three man team handicap: 1/5 of aggregate stroke handicap
