Resumption of competition golf on Monday 11 May

Set out below are the starting groups for Monday’s golf (stableford on the Tuart Course) and next Friday’s golf based on your advice of the numbers playing.  Because we had only 19 members listed for Monday, we were only allocated 5 slots for 20 players on Friday 15 May, despite having now 21 players wanting to play.  If there is anyone who wants to withdraw for Friday, please advise because others would like to play.  Please also advise if you want to play on Monday week (18 May) and won’t be attending on Monday 11 May when we will collect names of those wanting to play on Monday 18 May.

Please follow the following rules:

  1. Turn up 15 mins before your starting time knowing your handicap (per emailed list) and pay your green fee, complying with Wembley Golf’s signs about no more than 4 people (perhaps that might have been relaxed by then) in the pro-shop, paying by card and maintaining 1.5m social distancing.
  2. Don’t congregate in large groups around the first tee and be careful about social distancing all the way round the course because Town of Cambridge rangers are policing this – we had a visit from one on Monday during play.
  3. Mark your own card but keep your partner’s score as well.  Agree count after 9 holes as normal.  Agree final count at 18th hole, no need to sign cards.
  4. You will find the secretary at the 18th green with a plastic bag to receive the cards (he will spray them with Glen 20 when he gets home!).  If there is a disagreement between two cards he will accept the greater score as accurate. When you give him your card, please advise if you are intending to play on Monday week.  He will have an attendance list for that.
  5. There will be no $2 collection for next Monday and Friday, and no prizes for placings, best nines or CTPs.
  6. You can buy food and beverages at the cafe counter as normal but Wembley Golf will not allow you to sit down to drink/eat on the premises – you can do so in the car-park if they don’t spot it but you might as well go straight home really!
  7. When the secretary gets home, he will determine the placings and other match data and post them to the website and our new facebook page – @wcgolfer101
