Five golfers set off in the rain which lasted for two holes before stopping to show some sunshine for a short while. We got to the 5th green on the Old Course before the rain started again and it got progressively heavier as we tried to get to the green on the 6th. John Campbell abandoned at that point whilst David Lynn, Garth Irvine and Tony Fisk lasted another hole before floating off to leave Mike Kimbar to finish the nine with 16 points – a truly creditable performance in awful conditions.
