Hole-in-One!!! Results 29 December 2023

Hole-in-One: Rolfe Heldt scored the club’s first hole-in-one since October 2018 – many congratulations, Rolfe!! His tee-shot on the Old Course’s 2nd hole was close to the pin but its sinking was unobserved until the players reached the green.  The previous hole-in-one was by Spencer Percival on 8 October 2018 on the Tuart 3rd hole.  Prior to that, we had a run of 3 holes-in-one in April-May 2017, with Mike Spencer on the Tuart 9th (now 18th), Garth Irvine on the Tuart 15th (now 6th) and Terry Morgan on the Old 6th hole.  Rolfe’s score for the 18 holes on the Old Course is equal to the club’s record round claimed by Derek Alton on 19 Sept 2003, with 74 on the Old Course when the par was 73.  Tony Fisk scored 74 on the Old on 13 February 2023 and there have been several other scores of 75 and 76 in recent years, but congratulations to Rolfe on a great round.  The photo below is Rolfe being congratulated by club captain Tom McClain, and his scorecard is attached.
