Congratulations to Bruce Morrison who wins a bottle of white wine kindly donated by Richard Russell. Bruce scored a consistent 45 gross on each nine on a handicap of 19, net 71, 2 shots better than David Hayes and Tom Guthrie on net 73. Putting was good at the top end of the field but there was also a long tail of bad putting too. Congratulations to Stephen Edmondston, Tony Fisk, Tom Guthrie & Rolfe Heldt all scoring only 28 putts. There was substantial room for improvement in putting by Graham Guy, John Campbell & Graeme Richards who each recorded 38 putts with Graham retaining the dreaded Fergus McDuff Trophy until the next stroke & putts.

Congratulations to Bob Hopkins who doesn’t feature on the podium very often as he usually only plays nine holes when the rest of the club plays 18. The above handicaps have been calculated by David Hayes using a slope rating for Claremont of 79 and scratch rating of 26.  On the day, we used a handicap based on 50% of the Tuart Course handicaps but this made no difference to the outcome.  Many thanks to John Allen who provided the prize and the photos speak for themselves:
