Ray Dale Pairs Championship
The Pairs Championship was held over two days, Friday 16 and Monday 19 September, both days’ play being on the Tuart Course. Friday’s weather was sunny and warm but Monday’s started with a heavy shower and followed up with sunshine and strong winds, we being lucky to avoid further rain. Over the two days’ play, the clear winner by six strokes was the pair of Grant Saunders and Tom Guthrie – many congratulations on a best ball score of 89 for the two days. Runners up were Mike Kimbar and Steve Parkinson with 83, followed by Garth Irvine and Ron Bensky with 78.
The photo shows captain Tom McClain (centre) congratulating Tom Guthrie (left) and Grant Saunders (right).
- Avoid slow play: Players with a ball a similar distance down the fairway to a lost ball to play their shot before joining the search for the lost ball.
