• Avoid slow play: Lost ball – definition in the Rules – “The status of a ball that is not found in three minutes after the player or his or her caddie (or the player’s partner or partner’s caddie) begins to search for it.” To limit time looking for lost balls, club rules provide for a ball drop on the fairway adjacent to where it is believed to be lost; also consider hitting a provisional when a ball is potentially lost.

Ray Dale Pairs Championship
The Pairs Championship was held over two days, Friday 16 and Monday 19 September, both days’ play being on the Tuart Course. Friday’s weather was sunny and warm but Monday’s started with a heavy shower and followed up with sunshine and strong winds, we being lucky to avoid further rain. Over the two days’ play, the clear winner by six strokes was the pair of Grant Saunders and Tom Guthrie – many congratulations on a best ball score of 89 for the two days.  Runners up were Mike Kimbar and Steve Parkinson with 83, followed by Garth Irvine and Ron Bensky with 78.
