Keith Minkey Trophy for the Club Open Champion – Stephen Thomas, Friday gross 83 on the Old, Monday a splendid 74 on the Tuart, total 157 for the two days.
Handicap champion – Alan Sherman, Friday gross 80 net 68, Monday gross 82 net 70, combined net 138.  Alan Sherman had the second best gross of 162.
B-Grade champion – Graham Guy, Friday gross 91 net 71, Monday gross 94, net 75, total for 2 days 146.

We are back to live handicaps but the system was not working properly for the 9-holers today so their scores were not submitted.  Hopefully MiClub will locate and fix the gremlin for Wembley management soon.  I will download handicaps over the week-end and let members know if theirs have changed more than the normal +1/-1 as a result of the move to GolfConnect.  Members can check this for themselves by logging into www.golf.com.au or the Golf Aust Official phone app.

Congratulations to Tom McClain and Graham Guy whose great score of 45 points on Day 1 of the event carried them through to win by a point after Day 2’s play.  Second place went to Rolfe Heldt and Alan Smith with 43 points scored on Day 2 with Alan Smith scoring 6 pars on his 21 handicap and topping the day’s individual scores with 36 points. Play was slow on both days as recent wet weather interspersed with warm sunny days has let to good growth of vegetation in the rough, hiding golf balls and making shots from the rough unpredictable.  Players whose balls stayed on the fairways were rewarded whilst those who strayed were penalised.
